EWTN stands for Eternal World Television Network. It is a Catholic-themed cable channel and is available on most major cable providers. The channel's headquarters are in Irondale, Alabama.
Founded by Mother Mary Angelica of the Annunciation, EWTN began officially broadcasting on August 15, 1981. The organization later purchased a shortwave radio station, WEWN, that airs in the Birmingham, Alabama region. EWTN also has a channel on the Sirius Satellite Radio network and owns the National Catholic Register newspaper. As of 2015, EWTN reached 250 million homes in over 140 countries worldwide, making it the largest religious media network in the world.
