What is an example of a community?

Perhaps the most basic example of a community is a physical neighborhood in which people live. A community is minimally defined as a collection of people in a geographical area, although other factors such as common values, organized interaction, cultural similarity and strong group feelings denote communal attributes.
In sociological terms, communities are people with similar social structures. Online communities can be people interested in gynecology, stamp collecting, education, organic living, model trains, architecture and more. With online communities, there is no physicality or proximity to delineate a neighborhood of people. Instead, similar interests drive communities of people on the Internet.
