What is an example of a Norwegian epic?

The Poetic Edda, the Prose Edda and the Volsunga Saga are among the best known epics originating in Norway. Norway, as a member of the historical, cultural and linguistic region known as Scandinavia, shares in a number of Norse folk-epic sagas.

The Volsunga Saga, written in the late 13th century but with source material from hundreds of years prior, is an epic poem that tells the story of the Volsung family and of numerous Norse heroes and their trials. Generally, Norse and Norwegian literature only stretch back to the 10th century, as there was no easily written language available until the integration of Christianity and the introduction of the Latin alphabet.
