What is an F-statistic formula?
By Forinfos - 23/04/2025 - 0 comments
The F-statistic formula is a ratio that is obtained after performing an analysis of variance test or a regression analysis to determine whether the means of two populations are significantly different. The F statistic is typically used to determine whether the null hypothesis should be rejected or supported.
The F statistic is also known as the F critical value. Combined with the F value, they make up the results of the F-test. If the F statistic is smaller than the F value, then the null hypothesis should be rejected. The F statistic has two sets of degrees of freedom, one for the denominator and another for the numerator.
