The Federal Aviation Administration’s WINGS program is a pilot proficiency program that provides continuing education to licensed pilots in the United States. The FAA requires all pilots to complete WINGS’ basic level program every 12 months, including three knowledge credits and three flight activities credits, as of 2015.

Pilots may opt to complete the WINGS’ program’s advanced level, which involves custom-tailored training designed to meet the pilot’s unique needs and requires additional knowledge and flight credits beyond basic certification. The program also offers a master level, which requires additional coursework, and offers flight environment training scenarios and training in the use of specialized equipment.
