Can children drink alcohol at home under parental supervision?

The specifics of underage drinking laws vary per state. Children are permitted to drink alcohol at home under parental supervision in some states. In those states underage drinking is permitted in the private residence of the overseeing parent or guardian.

States that allow underage drinking at home under parental consent sometimes also allow additional drinking privileges. In most cases children are also allowed to drink under parental consent at private premises outside the parents' home as long as alcohol is not sold there. Children who are allowed to drink must be accompanied by their parent or guardian for the duration of the alcoholic consumption.
