According to Care.com, the average rate for a full-time nanny is $8 to $20 per hour. A part-time nanny is paid between $12 and $25 per hour. The rates apply to caring for one child.
Care.com explains that elements such as location, type of nanny, experience, additional responsibilities, number of children, benefits and incentives contribute to the final rate charged. For example, a nanny who lives in the home, with less than two years of experience and is 18 to 20 years of age is paid an average rate of $325 to $450 per week. This same nanny is paid $8 to $12 per hour when living outside the home.
