The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration publishes a list of current car seat recalls at safercar.gov. The website provides specific defect, consequence and corrective information and informs consumers of when the latest recall took place. There are an average of eight child restraint recalls per year.
Safercar.gov allows consumers to search the online database for recalls of specific car seat manufacturers and for recalls of cars that have integral car seats. Consumers are also able to register their car seats online and file child seat complaints with the Nation Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Users can subscribe by email to receive notifications of recalls.
