When do teenage girls stop growing?

According to KidsHealth, most girls stop growing by the age of 14 or 15. However, this varies somewhat depending upon the individual. Once a girl starts menstruating, she typically grows one or two more inches.
WebMD explains that girls usually begin their growth spurt at 9 or 10 years old. This usually lasts about two years, and it peaks towards the end. By the end of puberty, girls stop growing, because the growth plates in their bones fuse.
Height is determined to a large extent by genetics, WebMD states. An estimate of how tall a girl will be as an adult is made by subtracting 5 inches from her father's height and adding that to her mother's height. The result is divided by two.
