Chemist Luis Federico Leloir became famous for his research regarding sugar nucleotides, substances known for helping the body store sugars to use for energy.
Severo Ochoa was a biochemist from Spain. He went to medical school at the University of Madrid and in 1959 won the Nobel Prize in physiology for discovering the enzyme that synthesizes RNA.
