A fashion mullet is a shaggy, modernized remake of the 1990s hairstyle, the mullet. It is typically worn by hipster females.

People who sport the mullet have hair that is long at the back and short on the top and sides. The fashion mullet emerged in the United Kingdom. It is a fad where people grow small mullets, according to the Plague of the Mullet website.

Some types of mullets are the Assyrian mullet, TV mullet, football mullet and the popstar mullet. The author, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, was known to sport a mullet. A picture of Horatio Gates depicts him wearing a somewhat similar modern fashion mullet.
