As Space Daily explains, the total mass of all asteroids in the solar system is less than the mass of Earth's moon. Most asteroids lie in a vast ring between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, with the main asteroid belt holding more than 200 asteroids that are larger than 60 miles in diameter.
