What are some fast growing bushes for a privacy hedge?

The common privet, Ligustrum vulgare, is a deciduous shrub that quickly produces a dense hedge if planted in mass. Privet shrubs, featuring glossy leaves, white summer flowers and black autumn berries, attain a height of 10 feet. Forsythias and mock oranges are also fast-growing flowering shrubs that make excellent hedges.

For year-round privacy, zebrina western red cedar is a compact evergreen shrub that quickly grows in a sunny location to 20 feet and features scale-like green leaves.
