Nextel walkie-talkies, more properly known as Nextel Direct Connect, are devices that connect the user instantly to one or many people using push-to-talk services. They can be connected to one or more devices around the United States or abroad. The walkie-talkies can also connect to users who are off-network.

Sprint, the company that provides the service, touts the amount of choices in terms of devices from which a user can choose. The company also promotes the use of its walkie-talkies in getting more done, saving time and collaborating quickly. Under the umbrella of Direct Connect services, Sprint also offers six other services: Group Connect, Talkgroup, International Direct Connect, Direct Talk, NextMail Services and Direct Send.
