Are there ferries that offer discounted rates for seniors?

As of March 2015, the Washington State ferry system offers discounted senior rates for individuals who are 65 years of age and older, as stated by the Washington State Department of Transportation website. Senior passengers are able to travel for half the price of a normal daily fare. The discount does not apply to the monthly pass option.

As of March 2015, the Sausalito and Larkspur ferries in the San Francisco, Calif., area offer fares that are half the normal price for seniors at least 65 years old, as reported by the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation District. The discount applies only to one-way ferry rides.

To receive a senior discount, eligible individuals should be able to show identification that provides proof of their age, such as a driver's license or state-issued ID card.
