By Forinfos - 03/11/2025 - 0 comments
Fishes that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids include tuna, sardines, mackerel, anchovies, salmon, lake trout, herring, bluefish and sturgeon. It is recommended to eat these kinds of fishes two to three times a week.
WebMD states that although eating fatty fishes is good for one's health, some kinds may have high mercury or PCB content. Some fish types that contain high levels of these toxins include wild swordfish, mackerel, shark and tilefish. Additionally, farm-raised fish may also contain high levels of contaminants and must be totally avoided by pregnant women and children. Wild salmon and wild trout are considered to be safer.
