How is fleece clothing washed?

Fleece fabrics are typically polyester based and have water repellent characteristics. Fleece clothing can be washed in the washing machine or even hand washed. The clothing should be turned inside-out and then washed in a gentle cycle.

1. Choose a detergent

   Mild powdered detergents are preferred over liquid detergents, which might make the clothing lose its water resistance.

2. Wash and rinse the clothing

   Set the washing machine on a gentle wash cycle. After washing, the clothing must be rinsed thoroughly to completely remove the detergent.

3. Dry the clothing

   If using a dryer, set it on a low temperature and remove the fleece clothing as soon as the cycle is over. It can also be hung in the open air to dry.
