Where is the Fleet Bank headquarters?

The headquarters of FleetBoston Financial was in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1999, Fleet Financial Group merged with BankBoston to form FleetBoston Financial. In 1781, Fleet started in Rhode Island as the Providence Bank, which later became Providence National Bank.

Through a series of mergers and acquisitions, the company changed its name to Fleet Financial Group and its banking division became Fleet National Bank in 1982. In 2004, Bank of America acquired FleetBoston Financial through a stock-for-stock exchange. Shareholders of Fleet received approximately 0.55 of a Bank of America share for each Fleet share they owned. After the merger, all Fleet branches became Bank of America branches.
