Florida Heat Pump is one of many manufacturers of water source and geothermal heat pumps. The company was founded in 1970 in Pompano Beach, Florida.
Geothermal, or ground source, heat pumps are electrically powered systems that use the stored solar energy of the earth to provide heating, cooling and hot water for homes and commercial buildings. Ground source heat pumps can have closed or open loop configurations, and those loops can be installed horizontally, vertically, or in a pond or lake. The installation type depends on the amount of space available and the soil and rock type at the installation site.
