What is the flow rate of a garden hose?
By Forinfos - 14/09/2025 - 0 comments
The flow rate of a garden hose measures how much water can flow from a garden hose in a given amount of time. Water flow rate is measured in gallons per minute or hour and is determined by three factors: diameter of the hose, hose supply pressure and hose length.
The supply pressure is the force at which the water flows from the hose. It may not always be possible to know the supply pressure of the water coming from a garden hose, so estimating water flow is recommended. Timing how long it takes to fill a one gallon bucket with the water hose will give an estimated flow rate.
