How do you fluff a pillow-top mattress?

To fluff a pillow-top mattress, rotate the mattress, apply baking soda, and vacuum it. Remove the mattress top, and beat the mattress with a clean broom head to fluff it and remove dust.

  1. Rotate the mattress

    Rotate the mattress so that the foot end of the bed is at the headboard. This prevents uneven wear of the mattress.

  2. Apply baking soda

    Sprinkle baking soda on the mattress, and let it sit for one hour. Vacuum the baking soda up using the hose attachment on your vacuum cleaner.

  3. Beat dust out of the mattress top

    If possible, remove the mattress top and take it outside. If you're unable to remove the mattress top, wear a dust mask. Beat the mattress top with a clean broom head to remove dust and fluff the pillow-top.
