The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, or FMCSA, SAFER system is a free online resource that enables users to obtain safety records and related services of companies involved in the transportation industry. The FMCSA SAFER system is managed by the United States Department of Transportation.

SAFER is an acronym for safety and fitness electronic records. This information system provides individuals with Internet access the capability to search through FMCSA databases, sign up for a USDOT number or make online payments.

The FMCSA SAFER system also enables users to dispute FMCSA records through the DataQs system, get pricing information for permit processing of hazardous materials or retrieve data for the hazardous material route.
