What is a forehand shot in badminton ?

In a badminton forehand shot, the badminton racket is held with a forehand grip on the dominant side of the body. The shuttle is struck with a pushing motion and the palm toward the opponent. There are several forehand strokes, including the clear, lob, smash and drop shot.
According to The Badminton Bible, a forehand grip needs to form a "V" between the thumb and forefinger on the side of the racket handle. The thumb needs to remain extended throughout the shot to provide support for the racket. The fingers wrapped around the handle need to be separated and not touching each other. A grip where the fingers are touching is incorrect.
