Generally, issuers must mail Form 1099 by January 31, reports Forbes. When the normal due date is on a Saturday, Sunday or federal holiday, the mailing deadline is the next business day. In 2015, the mailing deadlines were February 2 for most forms, including 1099-R, and February 17 for 1099-B.

Form 1099-SA, information about real estate, and 1099-MISC, attorney fees and substitute payments, had mailing deadlines of Feb. 17, 2015, notes Forbes. A taxpayer who has not received a 1099-R may call the Internal Revenue Service toll-free number after February 14, according to the IRS. A caller should be prepared to provide his name, address and Social Security number and the issuer's name, address and telephone number. If possible, the caller should also provide the issuer's or employer's identification number, states the agency.
