What forms across the center of a cell towards the end of telophase?

During the last part of telophase in a plant cell, a cell plate begins to form between the two cell membranes. The cell plate develops into a cell wall, which divides the two daughter cells.

Mitosis in plant cells is slightly different from mitosis in animal cells because plant cells have walls made of cellulose. The cell plate is formed by the vesicles that move from the Golgi apparatus to the central part of the cell. During cytokinesis, which occurs just after telophase, the cell plate completely merges with the outer plasma membrane, forming a cell wall. In telophase of an animal cell, the actin and myosin between the daughter cells contract and eventually divide the cells.
