The forms of payment accepted on the Pennsylvania Turnpike are electronic tolling by E-ZPass, license plate tolling with an invoice mailed to the vehicle owner and cash, says the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. Turnpike users can pay invoices online using MasterCard, Visa, American Express or electronic check.

E-ZPass users save up to 35 percent on tolls compared to users paying cash in 2015, according to the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission. It costs $38 to set up an E-ZPass auto-replenishment account using a debit or credit card. The $38 includes $35 in tolls and an annual $3 fee. Multiple vehicles can share one E-ZPass. The E-ZPass transponder comes with mounting strips, allowing movement from one vehicle to another.
