What is the formula for midpoint?
By Forinfos - 17/08/2025 - 0 comments
The formula for a midpoint is the sum of x1 and x2 divided by two for the first coordinate and the sum of y1 and y2 divided by two for the second coordinate. This formula finds the midpoint between coordinates (x1, y1) and (x2, y2).
As an example, you can use the midpoint formula to determine the midpoint between coordinates (2,4) and (4,8). Using the formula above, add the first two coordinates (2 + 4) and divide the sum by two to find the midpoint (6 divided by 2 equals 3). Use the same formula to find the y coordinate of the midpoint: i.e. eight plus four divided by two equals six.
