What Is the formula for photosynthesis?

The balanced chemical equation for photosynthesis is 6 CO2 + 6 H2O ? C6H12O6 + 6 O2. In English terms, this equation translates to six carbon dioxide plus six water results in glucose plus six oxygen.
The usable end product the plant produces through photosynthesis is glucose, which the plant uses as food. The oxygen produced as a result of this process is a waste product and is subsequently released back into the environment. To complete photosynthesis, plants also require light energy captured from the sun using a separate process. Without photosynthesis, the atmosphere would eventually be devoid of the oxygen needed to sustain human life.
