What are Fostoria patterns?

Fostoria patterns are themed, etched, blown and hand-molded tableware and glassware pieces that were produced by the Fostoria Glass Company between 1887 and 1986. The patterns are all part of a series. The company's most famous glassware series is the "American" series.

Other notable Fostoria pattern series include the "Artichoke," "Diamond," "Victoria," and "Cascade" series. The company also manufactured etched, blown and hand-molded paperweights, vases, toothpick holders, inkwells, candelabras and candlesticks. While most Fostoria patterns are clear-colored, the company did release some of its collections in colors like green, blue, amber, rose, gold, amethyst, pink, topaz, red, ebony and orange.
