What are the four geographic regions in California?
By Forinfos - 22/12/2025 - 0 comments
The four geographic regions of California include the coast, Central Valley, mountain and desert regions. Within each major geographic region, there are several sub-regions. These include the high and low deserts, and the northern and southern coast.
The California coast is located along the western edge of the state, boarding the Pacific Ocean. Mountain ranges run along most of the length of the coast, and also make up the bulk of the northern part of the state. The Central Valley is a large, oval-shaped tract of fertile farmland in the middle of California. The high and low deserts are confined mostly to the southern part of the state.
