The four seasons are spring, summer, fall and winter. The seasons change automatically throughout the year. Each season is characterized by its own unique weather patterns.
Spring is characterized by warm and wet weather. Rainfall occurs in the spring and causes flowers and plants to grow. During the summer months, the weather is the hottest of the year. Hot weather can bring droughts. Fall is characterized by cooler weather and changing leaf colors. Plants and crops are harvested in the fall. Winter is characterized by cold weather that often brings snow, ice and sleet. Areas of the world in which temperatures do not drop drastically normally receive cool rain during the winter.
