To freeze peaches, first score, blanch and peel them. The pit should be removed and the fruit sliced, and then placed into a freezer bag with water, sugar or syrup, and frozen.
Peaches can usually be frozen for up to 10 months. Follow the steps below to freeze peaches.
- Score, blanch and peel
- Remove pits and slice
- Place in bags and freeze
Using a knife, score a cross into the base of each peach. Place them in a pot of boiling water for 30-60 seconds each. Cool immediately in a bowl of ice and water. When sufficiently chilled, remove the skins.
Cut the peaches in half and twist to separate, and then remove the pits with a knife. Slice the peaches if desired.
Place the peaches inside a freezer bag and fill with water, leaving half an inch empty for a pint-sized bag or 1 inch for a quart-sized bag. Remove air and place into the freezer.
