Does freezing cabbage make it inedible?
By Forinfos - 06/08/2025 - 0 comments
It is possible to freeze cabbage and enjoy it later. To freeze cabbage, rinse the cabbage, cut it into wedges or shred it, blanch it in boiling water for one to two minutes, allowing longer time for blanching wedges than shredded cabbage or individual cabbage leaves.
Remove the cabbage from the boiling water, and run it under cold water. Pat the cabbage dry with clean paper towels. Place the cabbage into individual plastic freezer bags, squeezing the bags to remove as much air as possible prior to sealing them.
Place the cabbage in the freezer until needed. Frozen cabbage lasts for 12 to 18 months when frozen at 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
