A French press is a kitchen appliance that is used to brew coffee. It may also be referred to as a press pot or a plunger pot due to its unique design.
A French press allows users to manually brew a cup of coffee in a few simple steps. The coffee must be medium or coarsely ground to avoid clogging the mesh filter. To brew a cup of coffee, boil 1 cup of water to around 195 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, place the coffee in the bottom of carafe and cover it with hot water. Allow the coffee to steep for a few minutes before filling the French press with hot water and pressing the plunger down to separate the coffee grounds from the brewed coffee.
