Consumers save enough energy to run a 30-inch (95W) television for more than two hours, just by recycling one 5.5 ounce Friskies aluminum cat food can, according to Keep America Beautiful. Yet, despite these benefits, many pet owners fail to recycle their empty pet food cans. As such, Keep America Beautiful estimates that less than 20 percent of aluminum pet food cans are recycled in a given year, compared to 54 percent of aluminum beverage cans.
