Are all tin cans recyclable?

All tin cans are recyclable, according to Waste Management. Tin cans are actually aluminum, but they are sometimes called tin cans because there is a micro-thin layer of tin coating the inside of the can to help it from rusting.
Americans throw out approximately2.7 million tons of aluminum cans each year, and only about 50percentare recycled. Waste Management estimates that recycling one tin can save enough energy to power a television for 3hours. Furthermore, there are roughly 10,000 locations in the United States that buy tin cans from consumers because tin can recycling is a billion dollar peryear business.
