When is frog gigging season?
By Forinfos - 04/11/2025 - 0 comments
The United States does not have a single set of guidelines regarding frog gigging season. Instead, the season is set by individual states. Individual states also determine whether a license is needed for frog gigging, and they determine how many frogs an individual can catch daily.
Searching on each state's individual website is the easiest way to determine when frog gigging season begins and ends. For example, in Missouri, bull frog and green frog gigging season runs from June 30 through October 31. In Florida, frogs can be gigged year-round with the exception of certain species, including gopher frogs, Florida bog frogs and Pine Barrens tree frogs.
