When was the game "Tron" released?

The original "Tron" game was released in May 1982 in the United States. Bally Midway produced the game, which it based on the "Tron" movie by Walt Disney Studios.

The "Tron" game offers 12 levels of play based on computer-related terms, with each level featuring four different types of random areas. The game randomly assigns players to one of these four areas per level. Random areas include Grid Bugs, Tanks, MCP and Light Cycles.

In Grid Bugs, a player shoots at bug-like enemies and enters a tower. In Tanks, a player must defeat enemy tanks before advancing. In MCP, a player shoots blocks. In Light Cycles, a player wins by making an enemy light cycle crash into a wall.
