Do gas dryers have heat coils inside?

Gas dryers are not designed to include heating coils, as they generate heat through the combustion of gas to create a fire. The heating element inside a gas dryer is typically an igniter that is attached to a combustion tube or a gas valve coil.

A gas dryer's heating element is electrical by nature and functions through generating enough heat to ignite gas inside a combustion tube. A defective heating element in a gas dryer does not stop the dryer drum from rotating, but no heated air is produced. A broken gas dryer only circulates cool air through the dryer drum, significantly increasing the drying time of any laundry or clothes inside.
