As of May 2015, "CBS This Morning" anchor and "O" magazine editor Gayle King is not married. She was previously married to police officer and attorney Bill Bumpus from 1982 to 1993.

Bumpus was a police officer in Kansas City when the couple met. He is currently an assistant attorney general in Connecticut. King revealed in a 2006 interview that she ended the marriage due to infidelity by Bumpus. They have a son and daughter together.

King has not re-married since her 1993 divorce. This had led to speculation about her sexuality and rumors of a romantic relationship with Oprah Winfrey, but none of this has been substantiated.
