Haiti is located in the Caribbean Sea between the Dominican Republic and Cuba. It is located on the western part of the island of Hispaniola, which it shares with the Dominican Republic.

The capital of Haiti is Port au Prince. The country measures 10,714 square miles and has a coastline stretching for 1,100 miles. The highest point in Haiti is Chaine de la Selle at 8,792 feet. The Republic of Haiti is the second-oldest republic in the Western Hemisphere after the United States and is the least developed country in the Americas. Even though French Creole is spoken in Haiti, French is the country's official language.
