As of December 2015, vehicles that are picking up San Francisco Airport arrivals can park in the airport's Cell Phone Waiting Lot or drive around the terminals until they meet passengers at a pre-arranged spot. Security restrictions prevent vehicles waiting at the curb and individuals waiting at the gate.

FlySFO.com suggests suitable meeting points for friends and family that are collecting passengers from each of the terminals. The site also offers a map showing the location of the Cell Phone Waiting Lot where people awaiting passengers can park at no cost for up to 60 minutes, so long as they stay with their vehicles. The Cell Phone Waiting Lot is located within a five-minute walk from the terminals.
