Geritol is used as a nutritional supplement. The product is a multivitamin designed for people ages 12 and over.
The multivitamin contains almost 100 percent RDA, or recommended daily allowance, of the following:
- Vitamin A
- Vitamin C
- Vitamin D
- Vitamin E
- Vitamin B1
- Vitamin B2
- Iron
- Vitamin B12
- Niacin
Geritol also produces other vitamins and mineral products mainly aimed at treating anemia due to aging. The supplements come in powder, liquid and pill form. The brand Geritol came into existence in 1950, when the Pharmaceuticals, Inc began marketing the products. The company was bought out by Nabisco in 1971 and Meda Pharmaceutical purchased the trademark in 2011.
