Is getting dental implants painful?
By Forinfos - 15/02/2026 - 0 comments
Dental implant surgery can be painful or uncomfortable, according to Mayo Clinic. There is frequently pain at the implant site, and the gums and face may swell. The gums and surrounding skin may also experience bruising, and there may be minor bleeding.
After a few days, if there is still swelling or discomfort, the patient should contact his oral surgeon, as pain medication or an antibiotic may be needed, as Mayo Clinic explains. Soft foods should be consumed while the surgical site heals, and that typically takes 10 to 14 days. Self-dissolving stitches are normally used, but removing other stitches requires another dental visit.
