What does a ghost shrimp eat?
By Forinfos - 11/01/2026 - 0 comments
Ghost shrimp are bottom feeders that eat small particles of food left behind by other fish. If such food is insufficient, they may be fed sinking flake or frozen or freeze-dried pellets. These scavengers also keep tanks clean by eating algae found throughout the aquarium.
Also known as glass fish due to their transparent bodies, tropical aquarium enthusiasts can witness the digestion process of the ghost shrimp. While ghost shrimp are peaceful as juveniles and reach a maximum of just 2 inches, they may become aggressive towards tank mates as adults. At that point, they should be monitored or kept with larger fish.
