What is a good daily iodine dosage, according to Dr. Brownstein?

Dr. David Brownstein believes that most people need a daily iodine intake of 6 to 50 milligrams to achieve adequate levels. This amount is significantly more than the recommended dietary allowance of 150 micrograms per day.

Dr. Brownstein argues that the goal of the RDA for iodine is only to prevent goiter. Since most of the iodine in table salt is not bioavailable, most people do not even get the RDA for iodine. Dr. Brownstein explains that widespread iodine deficiency has caused a massive increase in thyroid and breast diseases, including cancer. He states that iodine can help treat cancer and aid the body in flushing out toxic halides and metals.
