Who owns Dailymotion.com?

As of 2015, Dailymotion is owned in full by Orange S.A., a French multinational telecommunications company that purchased the site in January 2013. Orange purchased 51 percent of the site in 2011, and bought the rest later after failing to find an American partner to split ownership.

Dailymotion was launched as a privately funded start up company in 2005. It was privately owned by the original creators until the buyout by Orange six years later. In 2013, Yahoo attempted to purchase a controlling stake in Dailymotion, but was blocked by the French government in a move designed to keep at least half of the site under control of a French company.
