Who owns Colgate toothpaste?

Colgate toothpaste is owned by Colgate-Palmolive Company. Colgate and Palmolive used to be separate companies, but they merged together in 1928 and became known as Colgate-Palmolive in 1953.

Colgate is a sub-brand of the Colgate-Palmolive company. It focuses on creating toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouthwashes and dental floss. The company's first toothpaste was sold in a jar in 1873. Since then, they have created numerous types of dental hygiene products, many of which focus on cavity prevention and teeth whitening.

Colgate was started in 1806 by William Colgate. He first began working with starch, soap and candles, but the company expanded its product line after his death in 1857.
