What are some good decorations for a New Year's Eve party?

Some good decorations for a New Year's Eve party are fringed garlands, candles, Christmas lights, handmade paper snowflakes and curled ribbon. Some decorations are easily made at home.

Consider making paper snowflakes and curling and hanging ribbon to give the party a festive feel without spending a lot of money.

Hosts can also make their own sparkly New Year's Even streamers. To do so:

1. Apply adhesive to both sides of card stock and cover it with wrapping paper.
2. Using a circle cutter, cut out graduated circles from the paper/card stock combo.
3. Using a hole punch, cut holes at the top and bottom of each circle, except for the smallest. Cut out a hole at the top of that one. Connect the circles with the largest at the top and the smallest at the bottom with jump rings.
4. Hang the streamer using string and a thumbtack.
