What is a good hour to start a Saturday garage sale?

Many experts recommend starting a Saturday garage sale at 7 a.m., since the hours of 7 to 11 tend to be busy. If the garage sale is only running for a few hours because the number of items at the sale is low, some suggest holding the sale after noon.
A short, three- or four-hour afternoon sale allows the sellers to sleep in, properly prepare for the sale, and deal with less competition from other sales in the area. For big sales, it is ideal to start as close to 7 a.m. as possible and run until about 4 or 5 p.m., although some argue that purchases at garage sales noticeably slow down after 1 p.m.
